Our 250th Anniversary Commemoration Registration site is now open!
Each person needs to be registered separately, even those with a family group.

Registration for a child for the Smithfield 250th from Friday to Sunday. Includes all programs and Saturday evening dinner. Saturday lunch is not included. Consider adding a Box Lunch found in Add-Ons to be picked up at Smithfield and enjoyed on the grounds.

Registration specifically for members of the New River Valley (NRV). Includes the Saturday morning panel and breakfast as well as Saturday afternoon activities at Smithfield. Optional box lunches will be available for pick-up from Smithfield on Saturday between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Includes seasonal fruit and chips and sweet treat, bottled water.

Dr. Dan Thorp, professor at Virginia Tech examines the families and life of those enslaved at Smithfield prior to emancipation. Dr. Thorp will be unable to join us for the 250th but his book with a custom message from the author can be available for pick-up at Smithfield upon request, however!
Dr. Kerri Moseley-Hobbs, of More Than a Fraction Foundation, wrote this historical novel to chronicle the life of her ancestors who served as enslaved at Smithfield. Dr. Moseley-Hobbs will be there on Saturday afternoon to sign! Purchase ahead of time to have a copy of the book ready and waiting for you to get it signed.

Written by Hugh Campbell, local historian long associated with Historic Smithfield chronicles the story of the founding of Blacksburg in "Blacksburg Drama". Hugh Campbell will be there on Saturday to sign! Purchase ahead of time to have a copy of the book ready and waiting for you to get it signed.
Col. Turk McCleskey, retired from Virginia Military Institute will be our Saturday evening dinner speaker! Purchase ahead of time to have a copy of the book ready and waiting for you.
